Sr. QA AUTOMATION ENGINEER

About this role:

In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing QA suite for the cloud-based web application. This application serves the results of pathogen genome sequencing data analysis to various customers, such as academic & diagnostic labs, healthcare clinics and pharmaceutical companies. This application is a sophisticated scientific decision-support tool that helps provide answers to important questions such as which antibiotic will or will not work, what genes and mutations are responsible for this and how one can improve antimicrobial therapy. While we welcome applications from candidates with knowledge of the relevant areas of biology, it is not a requirement for this role as it is solely focused on the delivery of good-quality software.

Skills and experience, Essential:

  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Selenium, Robot)

  • Proficiency with testing automation platforms (Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins)

  • Experience in testing APIs (GraphQL, RESTful, WebSockets) APIs 

  • OpenAPI/Swagger

  • Python scripting 

  • SQL (MySQL, Postgres)

  • Linux and containeresation 

  • Cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)

  • Understanding modern web security methodologies (mTLS, OAuth, JWT, etc)

  • Experience working with modern DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and tools

  • Version control with Git and gitflow

Skills and experience, Desired:

  • BDD frameworks (Cucumber)

  • Relevant education (computer science & information technology)

  • Experience with Jira & GitLab or similar software

  • Self-management and motivation

  • Excellent English communication skills

  • Interest in life sciences (genetics, biology) is a plus
